After 12 hours of natural childbirth and the support of my family and husband,
Zoe Isabella was born on July 25, 2010 at 2:29 a.m.
She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
Delivering a child naturally is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but afterward I felt like the ultimate woman who could rule the world! I am so blessed I had that opportunity.
Becoming parents for the first time is a little scary, but just holding our little daughter in our arms we knew that everything would be ok. And it has.
We can’t help but stare at our little one. We may have said we wanted a boy first so there would always be a “big brother” in the family, but deep down inside we were ecstatic about our perfect little princess!
We love our little blond-haired, brown-eyed princess.
It’s amazing how very different two pregnancies and labors can be.
After 5 hours of natural childbirth and my doctor missing it because he shot out (literally),
Maximus Kirby was born on September 15, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.
He was 7 lbs 4 oz and 18 1/2 inches long.
Max’s birth story is a crazy one. Long story short, he was born with his facing sideways instead of face down (hence the swelling and bruising) and he literally shot out of the birth canal so fast that the nurse barely caught him.
A few days later, we woke up to this little guy. He looks completely different once the swelling went down!
Zoe absolutely loves her little brother. She didn’t experience much jealousy at all. Everyday Max is showered with kisses and love by Zoe, and I know that one day they will be the best of friends!
We absolutely love our little blond-haired, blue-eyed boy! Welcome to the family, Max!
Three different pregnancies. Three very different labors.
After five hours of natural childbirth
Titus Colin Alexander
was born on October 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 1/2 inches long.
When Titus was born the whole room (including myself) was shocked to see that he had hair — and it was dark!
Being in labor for the third time in three years was pretty hard physically and mentally. But thank the Lord I made it through and was VERY happy to see our second son finally here!
Zoe and Max absolutely love their little brother and I know that as soon as he is mobile they will the the Three Amigos and be inseperable. He was a surprise, but we are blessed to have him here and are so glad!
My fourth pregnancy. Another very different labor experience!
After 5 hours of natural childbirth
Phebe Eloise Alexander
was born May 21, 2014 at 7:45 a.m.
She was 8 lbs and 20 1/2 inches long.
This was my first labor where I actually went into labor on my own. No inducing this time! It was very different, but I loved it. If you could “love” a labor experience.
I was not jacked up on Pitocin this time since I wasn’t induced, so my contractions were not as extreme as what I am used to. Also, they didn’t come as often (with Pitocin they are right on top of each other for hours) so I just knew I would be in labor all day and I didn’t want to do that. This was the first time in any of my labors that I wanted drugs — NOW. My Mom and husband both told me that it was too late and she was coming! My Mom said my face was in absolute shock. I had no idea what was going on. 🙂
Zoe, Max, and Titus absolutely adore their baby sister! From the minute they met her they were so excited and have showered her with hugs and kisses.
I am so thankful for each of my beautiful children. They are such a blessing to Paul and I! I pray everyday that God will help us to be the parents we need to be, to raise them to love the Lord with all of their hearts. When they grow up I pray they will continue to share the love of God to anyone and everyone they come in contact with.
